We helped the Justice Resource Institute (JRI) redesign their public website in order to meet the demands of the modern web and connect with their audience on a variety of channels. We faced the unique challenge of bringing a diverse range of programs under a consistent and clear brand identity in a format that is easy to navigate. It was essential that JRI's audience could find information about the services that are relevant to them, despite there being over one hundred disparate programs at their organization.
Our goal was to create strong calls-to-action and engaging visual experiences to prompt conversations with constituents, as opposed to providing a catalog of every detail about the organization, which we have found to be ineffective online. We worked together to define a content strategy that met JRI's goals and built a website that is mobile and tablet optimized so we could meet the needs of a large percentage of their target audience.
The new site follows Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and provides a robust framework for customization through the user interface. We used Drupal to provide a modern Content Management System (CMS) that allows their staff to update content, images, and basic structural components of the website, as well as set varying levels of user permissions without needing to write any code. The data collected from our analytics framework following the launch of the new website shows significant improvements in user engagement.
